Salifu Abubakari, appointed Motor Insurance Lecturer at Ghana Insurance College

The Ghana Insurance College has appointed Abubakari Salifu Godmar, the General Manager of Marketing and Business Development at Priority Insurance Company Limited as a lecturer (Motor Insurance).

Salifu Godmar comes to Ghana Insurance College with many accolades over the span of over 15-year career in Insurance and Risk Management. He was recently nominated as “Young Insurance Professional of the Year 2022” at the just-ended Chartered Institute Insurance Ghana (CIIG) Excellence Awards.

“Following the footsteps of my seniors and brother; Isaac Kwakwa, Pepra Justice Agyei, Peter Dennis etc. I am delighted for the opportunity given me by the Ghana Insurance College as a lecturer (Motor Insurance),” Mr. Godmar said.

“The opportunity to work with Ghana Insurance College as well as play a role in carrying on the legacy of excellence that has been established at Ghana Insurance College is what attracted me to this position,” said Salifu Abubakari Godmar.

“I hope to inspire our future insurers to teach with pride, passion, dignity and benevolence while showing the students there that they can be fulfilled while working toward their educational goals and objectives.”

Abubakari Salifu Godmar, who is also the Chairman of Priority Insurance Educational Committee, is a proven leader who has the passion and the dedication needed to drive new business leads through the implementation of a fully integrated marketing strategy and risk management.

With over 15 years’ of experience in Insurance and Risk Management, he has grown from strength to strength in his career. He is a very organized and a personable individual who shares a passion for innovation and thrives using the latest evolving risk techniques to achieve technical and marketing objectives.

About Ghana Insurance College

In line with the objective of contributing more meaningfully towards the advancement of the insurance profession in Ghana and in the industry, the principal stakeholders engaged in the practice of the profession, namely, National Insurance Commission (NIC), Ghana Insurers Association (GIA), Ghana Insurance Brokers Association (GIBA), Insurance Institute (IIG), founded the Ghana Insurance College in 2006.

In order to achieve the objective of assisting practitioners to adhere to best practice and the ethics of the insurance profession, the College intends to develop a distinctive training model that integrates the theory and practice of insurance. The College also collaborate with other leading Insurance Institutes elsewhere in the world to develop training models.
